Lancashire Lightning were held to a tie by local rivals Yorkshire Vikings in their opening match of the campaign but have since beaten Worcestershire Rapids, Notts Outlaws and Derbyshire Falcons. Northamptonshire Steelbacks looked set for a tough 2022 T20 Blast when they were thrashed by 125 runs (DLS) by Birmingham Bears in their first game of the competition. However, since then, they have beaten Durham by 31 runs, had a no result with Notts Outlaws, and added a 42 run win over Leicestershire Foxes on Wednesday evening. Australian opener Chris Lynn hit 106 not-out from 66 balls and was backed up by Jimmy Neesham’s 75 not out from 30 balls. Ben Snaderson and Freddie Heldreich then took 3 wickets each as they won by a comfortable margin.
