Surrey are favorites to win
Surrey will take on Hampshire Hawks in the 2022 Vitality Blast. The game will be played at The Kia Oval starting at 18:30 local time on Thursday June 2nd.
Surrey have got off to an excellent start in the T20 Blast with a 4 wicket win over Glamorgan on Friday followed by a 37 run win over Gloucestershire on Tuesday. After being asked to bat first by Gloucestershire, Surrey posted a top-heavy scorecard as they fell from 60 without loss after 4.2 overs to 129 all out. Will Jacks top scored with 51 runs from 33 balls with Jason Roy (28) and Kieron Pollard (14) the only two others to make double figures. With the ball, England’s Sam Curran took 4-14 and was well backed up by Reece Topley’s 2-6.
Hampshire Hawks have lost all three of their opening games in the 2022 Vitality Blast with Tuesday’s 8 wicket defeat to Essex Eagles coming after a 10 run loss to Middlesex and a 4 wicket reverse against Somerset. Contributions of 38 from Ben McDermott and 37 from Joe Weatherley helped Hampshire to 150-6 but it was a total which they were unable to defend with the Eagles getting to 152 with 37 balls remaining. Brad Wheal took 1-26 and is yet to go wicketless in the tournament.

Surrey began the game against Gloucestershire with an excellent opening partnership and finished with an excellent bowling performance but the rest of the batting display was poor.
