Get all information about RCB in IPL 2022 including complete squad, players list, matches schedule, latest news and predictions.
Royal Challengers Bangalore is based in Bangalore, Karnataka and they started off their IPL stint under the captaincy of Rahul Dravid. RCB has played 3 finals so far but they missed to make the mark on all the occasions.
Last year, Virat Kohli announced his decision to step down from the captaincy after the 2021 edition. After retaining Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammad Siraj, RCB bought Faf du Plessis, Wanindu Hasaranga, David Willey among others, during the IPL mega auction.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have never won the IPL and finished fourth for the second successive season in 2021.

For the first time since 2012, RCB will be captained by someone other than Virat Kohli. As yet, we do not know who will be the skipper in 2022 but the coach will be Sanjay Bangar.
In 2021, RCB finished level on points with eventual winners Chennai Super Kings and only lost five games during the group stage.
After retaining only two players ahead of the auction, it certainly feels like Punjab Kings are moving into a new era.
South African batter, AB de Villiers, retired from cricket after last season’s tournament. Alongside Kyle Jamieson, who cost R14 Crore in 2021, both will not be in the RCB squad.
Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj were retained from last season with leading tournament wicket taker Harshal Patel re-signing for R10.75 Crore.
RCB are well stocked with all-rounders with Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and England’s David Willey both excellent T20 players. Faf du Plessis, who finished as the second highest run scorer in 2021, will be a big boost to the batting line-up.
Virat Kohli: No player has scored more than Virat Kohli’s 6283 runs in the tournament. He hit 405 runs in 2021 and we expect to see that number increase this season without the added responsibility of the captaincy.
Glenn Maxwell: The experienced Australian batting all-rounder finished in fifth place on the run scorers list last season. He was particularly impressive during the UAE leg of the tournament and hit 21 sixes across the competition.
Harshal Patel: After taking only 20 wickets in six of the previous seven IPL seasons, Patel produced an incredible campaign in 2021. He finished with the Purple Cap after picking up 32 wickets during the 2021 tournament.
Wanindu Hasaranga: After coming in as a replacement for Australian spinner Adama Zampa during the 2021 competition, the Sri Lankan leg-spinner commanded a high fee in the auction. He finished the 2021 T20 World Cup as the leading wicket taker.

We expect to see RCB competing in the top half of the 2022 IPL. In Faf du Plessis and Harshal Patel, they have two of the most consistent players from 2021’s tournament.
Much will depend on the form of Virat Kohli. If he finds form early then RCB should be challenging for the play-offs.
It will be a big surprise if RCB are not one of the stronger teams in this season’s competition. You can back them to land their first title at 8.50 with Betway and 8.00 with Bet365.
